The Glock 29 is one of the best compact semi-auto pistols in the world because it has great stopping power in any round except the .50 cal. I believe this is also a great pistol for home defense as no one will walk through a 10mm bullet with the power of a .357 Magnum. This bullet can easily penetrate light armor, drywall and even car doors. The Glock 29 offers more range than any of the previous Glocks we've reviewed.

If you own a Gen 3, Crimson Trace's LG-629 LaserGrips give your pistol a clean, strong and long-lasting red laser. The Lasergrips attachment attaches to the pistol grip of the Glock 29 and is only activated when you place your hand on the grip.
My favorite feature is the natural activation of the LaserGrips attachment. There isn't much training time to use the laser because it doesn't interfere with your natural shooting mechanics.
The Crimson Trace CMR-207G Rail Master Pro is my favorite light and laser combo to use on my compact and subcompact Glock pistols. The light shines with 400 lumens of white light. This 400 lumens light will temporarily blind an attacker looking directly into the light at 50 yards. A green laser is crisper and cleaner with extended ranges compared to a red laser.
CMR-207G has 3 operation modes, laser + light, laser only, light only. As a lefty, I really appreciate the ambidextrous activation points on both sides of the pistol. I have used it on my Mossberg 500, Glock 19 and AR-15 with no problems or compatibility issues.

It's a rare occurrence that I carry a 10mm pistol because it's more than I need a pistol for. However, anyone who lives in grizzly bear, mountain lion and moose areas should consider a high-capacity pistol for wilderness protection. I don't own any 10mm gun more than a Glock 29 or Glock 40 because I know they will work when I need them.
Whenever I'm hiking in Montana, Wyoming or Alaska, I always wonder what would happen if I surprised a grizzly. I recommend carrying a tactical holster or outside the waist belt holster (OWB) for faster draw speeds.

As long as you understand that you can't conceal a pistol with a 30-round magazine, it's beneficial to have more ammunition than taking the time to reload.
